Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions involving women.
The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
